With the launch of Office 2016 for Windows, Microsoft has released one of the most exciting Excel updates ever.
Some key inclusions for Excel 2016:
- For the first time since 1998, Microsoft has introduced new charts to Excel. Tree Map, Waterfall and Histogram have been added to the Excel arsenal, and now users can find even more ways to best represent their data.
- To help make data analysis easier, Excel 2016 also introduces Get & Transform, which allows users to connect, combine and refine data sources. These features were previously seen in the Power Query Add-In for previous versions of Excel, but are now built into the powerful new Excel.
- The new one-click forecasting feature in Excel 2016 builds on the same concept of simplifying data visualization for users. Through the use of colors and icons, trends and patterns of important values in the data can now be highlighted with just one click.
- There is now full compatibility with cloud computing platforms OneDrive and Sharepoint, along with integration of Microsoft’s Data Loss Prevention, which has been expanded beyond Outlook in recognition of data security needs outside of just mail data.
